Aspirin and Asthma
Aspirin can trigger potentially life-threatening asthmatic attacks in some people who have asthma. And the few asthmatics who are sensitive to aspirin are also likely to react poorly to other non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen and naproxen, though not as severely. The onset of asthma usually occurs 30 minutes to three hours after the person ingests aspirin. One in five adults with asthma is at risk for suffering life-threatening reaction to aspirin. Aspirin induced asthma in adults is more prevalent than previously suggested.
