The landmark study, "trends in alternative medicine use in the United States" published in the Journal of the American Medical Association" showed the world that people are seeking alternative health care providers, primarily chiropractors, in droves.

Patients are becoming increasingly disenchanted with traditional medicine. More than two-thirds of the patients used alternative care for one of these reasons: to avoid unwanted side effects; because of the failure of medicine in diagnosing or benefiting their health problems; or because they didn't like the attitudes of the medical doctors. Clearly, patients are dissatisfied with medical treatment and they are going elsewhere for relief from many medical problems.

So by going to see a chiropractor, one is no longer the minority, but more so part of a large and growing trend.
