Lifestyle Trumps Heart Drugs

There's no substitute for a healthy lifestyle says the author of a study to be published in Circulation, the journal of the American Heart Association. Men in the study who were taking medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol reduced their risk of heart problems by 57% by eating well, drinking in moderation, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly and not smoking. The study tracked 43,000 men over 20 years to tease out correlations between lifestyle habits and heart disease.
